There’s a trend floating around on Instagram that instantly grabbed my attention — a “sourdough-style” loaf made with just flour and Greek yogurt. No long fermentation, no starter, no hours of waiting. Just knead, shape, bake.
Honestly? It sounded almost too simple to be true.
So I decided to test it out.
The dough came together in minutes — soft, sticky, and surprisingly smooth for something with only two main ingredients. I shaped it, popped it into a preheated oven, and spent the next 25 minutes mentally preparing for a baking fail.
But then the magic happened.
It came out golden, crusty on the outside, tender inside, and had a slight tang from the yogurt. Not exactly sourdough — let’s not disrespect the OG — but definitely a keeper.
That’s why I call it Shortcut Bread. You get the comfort of homemade bread… without any of the drama.
Perfect for breakfast, soups, or just with butter melted on top.
